In this episode of Family Guy, Peter and his family succeed from the United States and start their own nation named "Petoria". Petoria has a self government which is a nation is governed by its own people, not by people on the outside.
After having his own nation there are both many pros and cons of self governing. Some pros were that Peter enjoyed doing the little things like peeing in public, stealing things, and doing anything his heart desired. The one thing Peter loved the most was being his own ruler.
With being your own ruler there comes many consequences. Some of them are since Peter succeeded from the United States, they felt dangered by him and had the U.S. army outside of his front door.
As long with threatening him with the army, but they shut off the water and the electric of Petoria. Any nation without water and or electricity is not going to last long.
The one thing that really screwed Petoria was that there was no source of Military. Without Military you are unable to defend your nation and are an easy target to be overthrown. With this being said Peter waved the red flag and Petoria was no longer a nation.
